For the fourth time already, young colleagues from various Lufthansa Group companies ran for a help alliance project and diligently collected donations. This time at the half-marathon in the Romanian capital.

The participants from Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt and Vienna jointly covered a distance of 21.5 kilometres and ran a proud 3,000 euros, which benefited the help alliance project Sunshine in Delhi, India, which gives disadvantaged children and young people from the slums a perspective through access to education. The run was organised by the Global Goal association, which was founded a few years ago by young Lufthansa employees. The concept was to generate money by acquiring sponsors and offering advertising space, for example on the running shirts or on the Instagram account.

Thus also the largest sponsor QlikTech GmbH could be won among other things. “In addition, the runners also make a contribution to the donation pot or ask friends and family for a kilometre allowance for the run,” explains Lydia Kretzschmar, Senior Manager Strategy & Fleet at Lufthansa Cargo, who organised the campaign together with her colleague Franziska Hermann. On site, BUH supported GG. Each athlete bears his own costs for the weekend, so that the donations flow completely into the project.

“The weekend was a complete success,” says Kretzschmar. “We networked young employees from different Group companies for a sporting event and achieved our goal of making a donation.“
