More than 4.000 Euro donations from caviar sales in Munich

26. June 2020

Joint action by Lufthansa, LSG Sky Chefs and Ringeltaube

The corona crisis has massive effects on all areas of aviation. The sharp reduction in the number of available flights as a result of the pandemic also has consequences for Lufthansa’s culinary offering: 270 cans of caviar were no longer needed for catering on intercontinental flights in Lufthansa First Class and could no longer be offered in the airline shop. But before the precious food had to be thrown away, Lufthansa, LSG Sky Chefs and Ringeltaube decided without further ado to sell the cans of caviar at the Ringeltaube branch at Munich Airport. In total, they collected 4,468.35 euros. The entire proceeds of the sale were donated to help alliance.

All participants were very enthusiastic about the successful campaign. “We are glad that we were able to make a contribution to the company’s charitable commitment with this spontaneous action. I want to thank all employees who made the sale of the caviar possible at short notice”, said Antje Bachmann, managing director of Ringeltaube. Andrea Pernkopf, managing director of help alliance, adds with regard to the timing: “It is encouraging that even in times of crisis we can rely on the support of the Lufthansa employees.”

We would like to thank Lufthansa, LSG Sky Chefs and Ringeltaube for this successful campaign – because especially in these difficult times our projects depend more than ever on donations!
