Merchandise4Good: Bid on unique items and do good

What becomes of discarded airplane seats, airport signs, or special aircraft components? At “Merchandise4Good,” they get a second life – while also supporting social projects run by help alliance.

Together with the Lufthansa Young Network, help alliance is once again hosting a special charity auction on eBay. Over 500 items are currently up for auction. From rows of seats and original airport signs to rare aircraft parts, there’s plenty for airline fans and collectors to choose from.

Behind the initiative is the commitment of Lufthansa employees who want to make a social impact with creative ideas. Many of the items were collected, refurbished, or prepared for the auction so that former airline items can be turned into concrete support for social projects.

The proceeds from the auction will go to two help alliance projects. Support will be provided to the “Waste for Hope” project in the Philippines, which combines environmental education, income-generating opportunities, and disaster preparedness. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go to “Bridges to Independence” in Hamburg. The project supports young adults with disabilities and their families on their journey toward a more self-determined life.
