Patron handed over a cheque to the city of Munich

Every week around 480 refugees come to the state capital for shelter and care. Many of them speak only their mother tongue and depend on translation for registration, shelter and administrative procedures. In Munich, all refugees receive support from interpreters, regardless of age or origin. The need is enormous.

help alliance would like to help to close this gap. Therefore, our patron Vivian Spohr handed over a cheque in the amount of 100,000 euros to Brigitte Meier, the social affairs officer of the city of Munich. ” Lufthansa and help alliance are very pleased to be able to support the city of Munich in caring for the arriving refugees”, Vivian Spohr said.

“Especially in the acute admission situation it is very important to create trust in the mother tongue. With its generous donation for our interpreting service, help alliance is making an outstanding contribution to breaking down language barriers and thus help build understanding”, emphasized Brigitte Meier, Social Affairs Officer of the City of Munich.

In addition, more than 50 employees of the Lufthansa Group have already responded to our call for interpreting services.
