DFB delegation visits Casa Mateus day care centre near Sao Paulo

09. June 2014

With the support of help alliance and the German Football Association (DFB) the help for the children can be extended

Children’s eyes were beaming on 9 June when the President of the German Football Association (DFB) and the Lufthansa delegation visited the Casa Mateu education and district centre near Sao Paulo, Brazil. DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach, League President Dr. Reinhard Rauball and Dr. Reinhold Huber, Lufthansa Senior Vice President Product & Marketing, were accompanied by former German national soccer player Cacau and the cabin and cockpit colleagues of a Lufthansa crew.

Help Alliance has already provided funds for the renovation of the center’s roof structure in early 2014. Thanks to the DFB’s donation of 15,000 euros, the support for the children can now be further extended.

Pastor Carlos Musskopf from Casa Mateus is very grateful for this: “Without the help of the DFB and help alliance, we would not be able to adequately support the children and would not have been able to carry out urgent renovation work. The visit of the DFB President, Cacau and Lufthansa fills us all with particular pride.

Casa Mateus has been supporting 200 needy children and young people every year since 1980. It offers them help to help themselves. Families in need or families in distress receive free social counselling and pragmatic life support. The self-initiative of the children and young people from the Favelas is promoted with training opportunities, language courses and educational day care.
