Haiti Entrepreneurship Camp of help alliance starts despite Hurricane Matthew

A few days ago the Haiti Entrepreneurship Camp in Port-au-Prince, organized by help alliance started for the third time in collaboration with the Rotary Club. Despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew in southern parts of the country, the organizational team decided in close consultation with local institutions that the camp will start as originally planned. However, the free days in the camp will be used by speakers to support people in the affected areas with immediate assistance measures. For example last week the Volunteers gave out food and Waterfilters to families in the affected areas.

The aim of the Entrepreneurship Camp is to support entrepreneurship in the country by organising workshops and thus make a contribution to long-term economic and social development. Around 30 people, some of whom have already founded their own companies, are participating in the workshop modules due to take place over several days at intervals of a few weeks.

More than ten Lufthansa employees from different areas of the Group will work together with the participants at the workshops on topics including team building and motivation, business assessment, finance, marketing, product development and HR, and share their own experiences. The phases between the modules are intended to allow time for the participants to apply and reflect on the acquired knowledge.

All Lufthansa speakers have agreed to support the camp in this difficult situation, and to teach the planned workshop modules. In addition, on Thursdays, which were originally intended as free days, will be used as so-called volunteer days.

If you want to support the work oft the volunteers in Haiti you may donate to help alliance.
