Big help in the climbing forest

10. November 2021

Lufthansa colleagues from the cabin actively supported the climb learning holidays

The help alliance project “Discovering Potentials in Learning Holidays” is aimed at elementary school children from poor families or families at risk of poverty between the ages of five and eleven in Germany. Due to their disadvantages and the discriminatory experiences that are sometimes associated with them, the children believe less in themselves and their strengths compared to their peers from socially stronger families. As a result, they are usually only able to exploit their existing potential to a very limited extent. This is exactly where the partner organisation climb comes in with the so-called learning holidays. With an educational programme that is unique in Germany, they inspire children and adults to learn in order to strengthen them for their future life.

This year, during the autumn holidays, the time had come again. During the ten-day learning holidays in Offenbach, the children were able to discover their strengths, learn with and from each other and discover new places and situations during excursions. A special highlight was the trip to the climbing forest. Colleagues from the Lufthansa cabin were with the climb team on this day and supported them on site. Together with about 40 children, they climbed high and accompanied and motivated the children on their way through the parcours.
