Merchandise4Good

16. April 2024

Many have been awaiting the next round of the popular “Merchandise4Good” charity auction. From April 14 to May 12, it will  be “three, two, one. – yours” again. Then aviation fans can once again take home rarities from the airline world on eBay. For the third time, the Lufthansa Young Network (LYN) is organizing the auction for a good cause together with the Nordstern Community, this year with over 630 items and even more extraordinary treasures. The special highlight: the Lufthansa illuminated letters, the large lettering that adorned the entrance area of the Lufthansa Technik base in Hamburg for decades.

The big charity auction runs from April 14 to May 12 on eBay. New items will be added every Sunday and can be bid on within a week.

The products range from illuminated letters and airplane seats to terminal signs and upcycled sidewall panels.

It is not only the items that express the uniqueness of the Lufthansa Group world, but also the auction itself. Numerous supporters across the Lufthansa Group are involved in “Merchandise4Good”, initiated and organized by the two networks LYN and Nordstern Community at the Hamburg site.

“We can hardly believe how Merch4Good has grown in recent years and how incredibly well our network organizes this auction. Recycling rather than throwing things away is part of our corporate culture. That’s what Lufthansa Technik stands for: what can be repaired is repaired, what can be recycled is recycled. With this campaign, we are not only contributing to the recycling of valuable materials. We are happy about every aircraft part that would otherwise have been scrapped, with which we make airliners’ hearts happy. And we can also support social projects with the proceeds from the auction.”

Mareike Liebhoff, Co-Initiator

Airline enthusiasm connects the world: the Merchandise4Good team has sent roll-ups and airport signage as far away as Japan in recent years.

This year, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the projects “Inclusion rocks” in Hamburg and “Plastic collectors” in Costa Maya, Mexico.
