Skillability Center, Dehradun
The project offers disadvantaged young people a professional future through practical training, relevant qualifications, and the promotion of entrepreneurial skills.

The project ‘SkillAbility Center’ in Dehradun, India was launched to open up new perspectives for young people from the poorest sections of society. Many of them left school early, were forced to beg, or cannot find work after graduating from school because they lack specific professional skills.
The center offers targeted training in six practical areas: hotel management, automotive repair and maintenance, computer skills, accounting with Tally, industrial work ethic (DOJO), and tailoring and sewing. In addition to technical qualifications, the focus is also on soft skills, career guidance, and the basics of entrepreneurship.
The aim is to give young people a real chance at a self-determined life through permanent employment in regional companies or by starting their own small businesses.
The center is currently being expanded. Plans include the installation of a solar power system to reduce operating costs and promote sustainable energy, the purchase of a bus to transport participants from remote areas, and the establishment of a modern food & beverage service and housekeeping area to expand hospitality training.
The ‘SkillAbility Centre’ is part of the overarching mission of local project partner Aasraa. Street and slum children are to receive comprehensive support so that, thanks to education and qualifications, they can enjoy long-term stability, a secure income and thus a better life.
