One Stop Center for Care & Development, Selangor
The project creates a safe, professionally equipped space where children and young people with disabilities receive the support they truly need. Through specialized therapy, individualized guidance and active parental involvement, it opens new pathways toward independence, personal development and meaningful participation in society.

The project
Many children with intellectual or physical disabilities in the Hulu Langat district do not receive the support they need for their development in mainstream institutions. Parents are often left to cope on their own, with limited access to information or professional guidance. The organization Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat (PKKI), founded in 1995 by parents of children with disabilities, currently operates a day care and support center in two converted residential houses. These facilities have reached their spatial and structural limits and no longer provide sufficient capacity for needs-based support.
The construction of a new three-story One-Stop Centre will create a purpose-built facility with spacious therapy and classroom areas. Up to 100 children will receive individually tailored physiotherapy, occupational therapy, specialized educational support and psychological counseling. In addition, music, art and computer classes will help nurture talents, strengthen self-confidence and build practical life skills.
The goal is to enable children with higher support needs to gain greater independence in daily life while preparing higher-functioning young people for simple income-generating opportunities. At the same time, parents receive counseling and guidance. The result is an inclusive center that sustainably connects rehabilitation, education and social participation.
