Everyone has a right to education – even refugee children!
help alliance and the RTL Spendenmarathon are working together to promote inclusion and integration in Germany – join in and donate!
Germany has admitted about one million refugees in 2015. Many of them will stay. It is in the interest of society as a whole that these immigrants find their place in our society. The key to this is education. Schools are currently doing valuable pioneering work in integrating refugee children.
The Open School Cologne (OSK) is one such example: there, pupils from different backgrounds and educational backgrounds learn together, thus creating a model of successful inclusion. The OSK promotes the diversity of each child individually with a learning concept that covers all ages. In such an environment, even children with refugee experiences can feel comfortable, process their experiences and develop future perspectives.
By attending school, the refugee children experience stability, appreciation and are enabled to develop their potential in a safe environment. They also receive support through a learning sponsorship programme: Lufthansa employees help with language acquisition and are available as contact persons.
This is a great project that has also made a big impression on the “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern” (RTL Foundation – We Help Children). For this reason, this year’s RTL Spendenmarathon on November 24 and 25 will call for donations for the project. And over the next three years, we also want to continue our contribution to help refugee children gain a better foothold in their new home in Germany. But for this we need your help – donate for the “Offene Schule Köln”!
