Art auction for disadvantaged children in Brazil

Successful auction generates donation of €5,100
On Sunday evening, the special art auction in Munich ended successfully and the painting “Amazonas” by artist Simone von Anhalt found a happy new owner. And also help alliance and the children and young people of the project “Boxing against lack of perspective” in São Lourenço da Mata, Brazil can be happy. Thanks to the successful auction, help alliance will receive a donation of 5,100€, which will be used to support the various sports, music and educational activities of the youth centre.

Auction of the acrylic painting “Amazonas” by Simone von Anhalt from 01-04 July 2021
More and more employees of the Lufthansa Group are volunteering at help alliance and using their artistic talents for a good cause. Thanks to this creative support, increasingly more can be achieved in the projects to provide children, adolescents and young adults with access to education.
Simone von Anhalt, an internationally committed Munich artist and Lufthansa employee, created the artwork “Amazonas”, which reflects the powerful and colourful energy of the Amazon and Brazilian nature.
This painting will be auctioned off at a special art auction at the hotel “Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski” in Munich from 1 – 4 July 2021. 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to help alliance for the aid project “Boxing against lack of perspective” in São Lourenço da Mata, Brazil. There is extreme poverty in many families due to the unfair distribution of property and income. Especially children and youth suffer from these grievances and are often caught in a vicious circle of poverty, drug and violent crime. The project aims to offer children and young people an alternative to boredom, crime and a lack of perspectives through sports, music and educational opportunities. Simone von Anhalt lived in Brazil for several years in her youth. Her drastic experiences resulted in a deep desire to help street children from the poorest regions of Brazil.
