help alliance is the non-profit organization of the Lufthansa Group that has been supporting educational projects for children, adolescents, and young adults around the world since 1999. Volunteer project leaders from the Lufthansa Group work together with local partners to empower young people and help them build a self-determined future. With around four billion people, Asia is the most populous continent in the world and a region of great contrasts. Despite economic progress, approximately 1.3 billion people in Asia live below the poverty line, surviving on less than two US dollars a day. In rural areas, access to secondary education, medical care, and sanitation is severely restricted. More than half of the world’s illiterate population lives in Asia, 256 million in India alone. The gap between rich and poor, urban and rural areas, continues to grow along with rising social tensions.

In Asia, we are committed to supporting disadvantaged children and their families through projects focused on education, child protection, and sustainable development. We support the construction of schools and learning centers, provide access to education, and contribute to improving food security and health. Together with local partners, we also promote initiatives for sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and income-generating measures.
