Ambassador and fundraiser on board

15. June 2018

New OnBoardCollection starts on June 1

The support of Lufthansa Group employees has always been the backbone of the help alliance. The commitment of the cabin and cockpit colleagues, in particular, is essential for the Lufthansa Group aid organisation. This is illustrated by the following statistic: Ten of the 33 aid projects currently in operation worldwide are managed by a help alliance project manager who is assigned to the crew.

Flight attendants and pilots not only assume project responsibility directly, but are also help alliance ambassadors and fundraisers on board. They play a key role in making the Lufthansa Group’s colleague’s commitment visible to the outside world. Help alliance would like to thank you for that.

73 euros in foreign currency are lying unused in the drawer

In order to make even better use of this ambassador role, help alliance has agreed with Cabin Management to revive the so-called OnBoardCollection (OBC). For many years, passengers on board Lufthansa, Austrian, Condor and Edelweiss long-haul aircraft have been given the option of donating change in foreign currency in specially designed bags for the help alliance. Combined with an announcement from the Purser, OBC helps to further promote and expand the work in the projects, while at the same time pointing out the particular commitment of Lufthansa Group employees. A commitment that does not exist in this form with other companies!

An average of 73 euros in foreign currency lies in the drawer of every traveller. The new help alliance film thematises exactly this unbelievable sum and shows that this slumbering money can work wonders when properly invested. The clip can be seen on board from 1 June and will explicitly ask passengers to put their small change in the designated donation bag
